Respite Home of Virginia is a respite home established by two nurses, Deepa and Pramila, who have been central figures in the care of many individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities for more than ten years. We pride ourselves in providing a thriving environment for individuals with different abilities and being a part of each individual's journey in obtaining skills to thrive independently in the community. We have earned recognition and praise for our transcendent services provided to families predominantly in the Northern Virginia area.
We provide respite care services provided in a residential location to adults, 18 years through 65 years old, when the caregiver or other care provider is in need of relief and the individual is in need of a substitute care provider on a short term basis. Respite Home of Virginia (RHV) primarily provides respite services in order to give caregivers a break, however we also are able to accommodate short-term emergency placements. The respite services consist of routine supports, general supports, and safety supports (as may be needed) that are provided to enable an individual to acquire, retain, or improve skills necessary to successfully live in the community. Respite home residential services may be provided to the individual continuously up to 24 hours per day for the allocated period of stay, by paid staff who are physically present. This service may be provided either individually or simultaneously to more than one individual living in that home, depending on the required support (i.e., toileting, or other personal care activities).
